Craftsmanship and Materials

Skilled artisans meticulously construct each board using premium woods like Western Red Cedar, Basswood, and Paulownia. Each board is layered with fibreglass both on the outer shell and internal components; bonded with epoxy resin, making an extremely durable and waterproof skin.

Options for Every Rider

To accommodate riders of varying skill levels, Shore Boards offers two series. The Classic Series, designed with a universal approach, is ideal for beginners while incorporating key features enjoyed by experienced riders. For serious surfers, the Competition Series features a featherweight bottom that caters to the advanced needs of enthusiasts pushing the limits!

Environmental Consciousness

Committed to being environmentally conscious throughout their production process Shore Boards sources sustainably harvested woods along with using plant based epoxy resin for finishing. Unlike traditional board building, these boards contain absolutely no foam, contributing to a eco-friendly product.

Low Waste Production

Shore Boards' dedication to sustainability extends to their production methods, minimising waste by repurposing scrap materials. Offcuts from the top and bottom panels are repurposed into logo pieces installed in every board, reducing waste and adding a unique touch to each one.

Timeless Design

Emphasising sleek and simple lines, Shore Boards presents three distinct design options - North, Explorer and Vintage. Each board possesses a unique character, with every piece of wood contributing to its distinctiveness, ensuring it is truly one of a kind.

Built to Last a Lifetime

Shore Boards takes immense pride in crafting boards that stand the test of time. Built for enduring performance and enjoyment through years of adventures, the boards represent an investment that transcends generations.

Why do Shore Boards use fibreglass?

What is fibreglass? Fibreglass, or glass fibre is a composite material crafted from woven fabric embedded with randomly laid glass fibres. These fibres are bound together by a resin, forming a robust and durable composite material.

How strong is fibreglass? The strength of fibreglass varies depending on the composite formulation. On average, it boasts a strength of about 1,307kN m/kg. To put this in perspective, stainless steel has a specific strength of 63.1kN m/kg, and titanium, 260kN m/kg. Pound for pound, fibreglass proves significantly stronger than steel!

Why do Shore Boards use fibreglass? Shore Boards are layered with a 6 oz. fibreglass cloth on the outer shell, a 1.5 oz. on the internal skins and bonded using an epoxy resin system. This combination results in an exceptionally durable and waterproof skin, ensuring the protection of internal components. Unlike most wakesurf boards utilising fibreglass cloth with polyester resin, our epoxy based system offers superior strength, durability and UV protection.

Epoxy Vs. Polyester Resin: An epoxy resin exhibits superior strength, withstanding up to 2,000lbs per square inch, while polyester resin falls short at less than 500lbs per square inch. Epoxy also outperforms polyester in wear resistance, cracking, peeling, and protection against environmental factors or chemicals. This makes epoxy the ideal material for safeguarding these wooden wakesurf boards, ensuring they last a lifetime.
